Journal of Management Innovation and Technology (JMIT) is a peer-reviewed, open-access academic journal focusing on management, marketing, innovation, technology management, digital transformation, entrepreneurship, business, organizational management, and sustainability.

Every manuscript submitted to JMIT undergoes an initial editorial assessment to determine its suitability for the journal's Focus and Scope, originality, academic quality, methodological appropriateness, and compliance with the Author Guidelines.

Manuscripts that pass the initial assessment are subsequently assigned to qualified reviewers through a Double-Blind Peer Review process. Under this system, the identities of authors and reviewers are kept confidential throughout the review process.

 

Review Process

The editorial and peer-review process follows these stages:

1. Manuscript Submission
Authors submit manuscripts through the JMIT Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform.

2. Initial Editorial Screening
The Editor-in-Chief or Managing Editor evaluates the manuscript for:

  • relevance to the journal's Focus and Scope;

  • originality and academic contribution;

  • compliance with the Author Guidelines;

  • manuscript completeness;

  • methodological adequacy; and

  • potential ethical or plagiarism concerns.

Manuscripts that do not meet the basic requirements may be rejected without external review.

3. Similarity Check
Manuscripts that pass the initial screening may undergo a similarity check using an appropriate plagiarism-detection system. The similarity result is considered together with the nature and source of the matching text and is not determined solely by a fixed similarity percentage.

4. Reviewer Assignment
Manuscripts considered suitable for peer review are assigned to at least two independent reviewers with relevant expertise.

5. Double-Blind Peer Review
JMIT applies a double-blind peer-review process, in which the identities of both authors and reviewers are concealed from each other.

Reviewers assess the manuscript based on, among other considerations:

  • originality and novelty;

  • relevance and significance;

  • theoretical contribution;

  • research methodology;

  • validity and reliability of findings;

  • quality of analysis and discussion;

  • clarity of presentation;

  • references and scholarly grounding; and

  • theoretical and practical implications.

6. Revision
Based on reviewer comments, the editor may request:

  • Major Revision

  • Minor Revision

  • Revision and Resubmission

Authors are expected to respond to reviewer comments systematically and submit a revised manuscript within the specified timeframe.

7. Editorial Decision
The final editorial decision is made by the Editor-in-Chief based on the reviewers' recommendations, the quality of the revised manuscript, and the overall editorial assessment.

Possible decisions include:

  • Accept

  • Minor Revision

  • Major Revision

  • Reject

The editor may request an additional round of review when substantial revisions are required.

8. Copyediting and Production
Accepted manuscripts proceed to copyediting, proofreading, layout, metadata preparation, and final publication.

9. Publication
The finalized article is published online as part of the relevant issue of JMIT and assigned its publication metadata, including a DOI when available.

 

Review Duration

JMIT aims to complete the initial editorial assessment and peer-review process as efficiently as possible. The review duration may vary depending on reviewer availability, manuscript complexity, and the number of revision rounds required.

As a general target, the initial review and peer-review process is expected to take approximately 4–8 weeks. However, this period is an estimate and does not constitute a guarantee of acceptance or publication within a specific timeframe.

 

Reviewer Selection

Reviewers are selected based on their:

  • academic expertise;

  • research experience;

  • publication record;

  • methodological competence;

  • relevance to the manuscript's subject area; and

  • absence of conflicts of interest.

JMIT seeks reviewers from different institutions and relevant disciplinary backgrounds to maintain an independent and rigorous review process.

Reviewers are expected to maintain the confidentiality of manuscripts, provide objective and constructive assessments, disclose potential conflicts of interest, and avoid using unpublished information for personal or professional advantage.

 

Editorial Independence

The final decision regarding publication rests with the editorial team of JMIT. Reviewer recommendations are important considerations but do not automatically determine the final editorial decision.

Editors and reviewers must declare and manage any conflict of interest that could affect the impartiality of the editorial or review process.
